Mumbra: Students Islamic Organisation of India Mumbra unit launches its new blog http://www.siomumbra.blogspot.
The blog being inaugurated today by Mumbai Division President Br. Abdul Qadeer at Islamic Centre Mumbra.
Br. Abdul Qadeer expressed his happiness over starting this blog saying “this is a great initiative by Mumbra unit and day by day Mumbra Unit is on the path of progress for e-activities. Even National website (http://www.sio-india.org ) is filled up with Mumbra Activities. I expect a further growth and Insha ALLAH a day will come when they will launch their own website. Excellent Mumbra!!”
SIO Mumbra blog is launched to help the members and associates to know the updates of Mumbra unit events and activities as well as the students to know about the syllabus, online books, question papers, scholarships, professional course related information.
The blog also have online CHAT facility, student’s corner, gallery as well as download features.
Associates of JAC SIO Mumbra steal the show at Inter JAC competitions
The Kalyan unit of SIO successfully organized one day meet cum competitions for JAC associates of Mumbra, Bhiwandi and Kalyan Units. The objective of the meet was to interact with associates of other units, share their experiences, enjoy and learn in a good environment.
JAC of Mumbra left early in the morning on an enthusiastic note. Janaab Abdur Rasheed Sahab (vice President JIH Mumbra-Kausa) gave useful instructions, described the etiquettes of journey & prayed for their success. The team received a warm welcome by Br. Yasar (President Kalyan Unit) and his team.
After recitation of Quran the day started with a Cricket tournament between the units followed by zohar salah & delicious lunch. The afternoon session had competition of Drawing, Essay writing, Relay race. The day ended with an entertaining Drama competition.
JAC associates of Mumbra won the following prizes
- Best drama (Amir, Azhar, Zaid, Azhar Khan, Athar, Zubair, Irfan)
- Best actor – Brother Amir surve
- Best Drawing – Jawwad Ahmed ibn Masooq Iqbal - 1ST in Sr. group
- Best Drawing – Amir surve 2nd in Jr. group
- 1st in Sr.group – Umair Khan
- 2nd in Sr.group - Muawiya
- 2nd in Jr.group - Ejaz Abdur Rehman
Brother Afif Asre & Brother Junaid Ahmed (JAC Incharges) trained and helped the associates to prepare for the competition. SIO Mumbra thanks them for their efforts.

PRIZE DISTRIBUTION PROGRAM 2010 Junior Associates Circle (JAC)
Junior Associates Circle (JAC) prize distribution program was successfully held in Tanwar Nagar Masjid (Mumbra) at 7.30pm. These prizes were given for the various events held in last six months.
The events were:
1. JAC picnic at Alibag
2. Quran quiz competition
3. Best Assignments in “Hafta E Quran”
Program started with the recitation of the Holy Quran by Br. Aijaz followed by the translation by Br. Azeem. The Nasheed “Forgive me, when I whine” was sung by Br. Ilyas.
Br. Abdus Salam (ZAC Member, Maharashtra South Zone) presented a brief introduction of Junior Associates Circle (JAC) of Students Islamic Organisation of India (SIO) and described the qualities of an Ideal Junior Associate.
Janab Masood Iqbal (Engg. in Godrej Ltd.) expressed his happiness over organizing this event for children and said that these prizes are not long lasting but for us the ultimate prize is Jannah, for which we should follow the Quran & Sunnah. He was chief guest of this program.
Janab Ab. Rasheed (Vice President Jamaat E Islami Hind (JIH), Kausa-Mumbra), Professor Safadar Ulde (Professor in Rizvi College) and Br. Ziyaul Islam (President, SIO Kausa-Mumbra) were present in the program.
Br. Ziyaul Islam congratulated JAC associates for their prizes and said that we also have to perform very well in our academics. He also announced that if any JAC associate securing 1st, 2nd or 3rd rank in their respective classes will be awarded special prizes.
Program ended with Dua by Janab Ab. Rasheed.

“Muhammad (PBUH) for all” echo school students from Mumbra-Kausa
As part of the state level campaign of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind Maharashtra, Students Islamic Organisation of India (SIO) Mumbra-Kausa Unit has successfully organized an inter school speech and essay competition on the topic “Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) for all”. The sole objective of the competition was to disseminate the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) among the students & to propagate the message that Muhammad (PBUH) is not only a mercy for Muslims, but a Mercy for all creations. In all 250 essays were received from 20 schools in Marathi, Hindi, English & Urdu languages. 40 students from 20 schools participated in the speech competition.
The speech competition was held on the 31st of January 2010 at Ahmed Abdullah Garib Polytechnic, Kausa. The competition was held for the students of standard 5th to 10th divided into Senior & junior group. Shaikh Rafeeque Madani (HOD Arabic, Islamic International School), Dr. Irshad (Principal BMC school, Ph.D Urdu Language), Prof Safdar Ulde (Rizvi Junior college), Zaheer M K (Research & Development, Mahindra & Mahindra) were the judges for the competition. It was great to witness the competition among students with speeches in Marathi, Hindi, English and Urdu languages covering various aspects of Prophet Muhammad’s (PBUH) life. Maulana Khalid Jameel Makki (Lecturer, Ex-Principal Jamia Islamiya, Mumbra) was the chief guest for the prize distribution ceremony. In his address he highlighted the importance of following the Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) in totality & to be a good practicing Muslim. He also said the only solution to the problems of humanity is following the way of our beloved Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). Janaab Zafar Ansari sahab (Member, Jamaat-e-Islami Hind, Mumbra-Kausa) explained the objectives of the campaign & their expectation from students, parents and teachers.
