Alhamdulillah SIO Ms South Zone is working for different Minority scholarship for last 6-7 months. (e.g. Merit cum Means, Post Metric, Pre metric and other private schemes). SIO MS South Zone has come up with a Scholarship Cell which looks after all matters related to scholarship issues. Very Important issue was taken up recently. Presenting some excerpt from the same.
The Issue
For the year 2011 state Govt. declared 48157 Minority post metric Scholarships (worth 40 crores). State govt made it compulsory for online from for current year to speed up the process of issuing the scholarships; however they neglected the following facts/errors
1) www.dhepune.gov.in site do not open readily.
2) 15000 junior and senior colleges in state while site shows 2000 only.
3) Rural areas do not have net facility.
4) Form does not load readily.
5) After filling the form either form goes out blank or gives print error.
Some other hitches which troubled the students a lot were the gross negligence, inefficiency, lack of co-ordination among different education directorates in State and irresponsibility, non-cooperation by Junior/Degree/PG College Principals, short period between issuing GR and last date of filling forms, Less/limited or no publicity of schemes.
On the top of everything making online scheme compulsory while Centre never made it compulsory, have floundered this good scheme on the ground.
